Tonight, June 8, at 8 p.m. KCT concerts is hosting a night of Irish music with fiddler Oisin MacDiarmada and singer and accordionist Seamus Begley. The show takes place at the Katharine Cornell Theatre in Vineyard Haven.

Mr. MacDiarmada is a native of Sligo, a region known for its rich fiddle tradition. He is also a music education graduate of Trinity University in Dublin and has been described as “one of the most gifted and creative traditional fiddlers playing today.”

Island Community Chorus

This weekend, the Island Community Chorus, under the direction of Peter Boak, will present two performances of its spring 2012 concert program, Beethoven and Friends, at the Performing Arts Center of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.

The chorus is made up of one hundred singers who have been rehearsing weekly since Jan. 9.

The concerts are at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 1.
