This is the second installment of the high school spring sports preview. A preview of the baseball team will appear in next week’s Gazette, along with game recaps from the first week of the sports season.
Students in Elaine Weintraub’s Irish history class at the regional high school took their studies outside on Monday, trying their hand at one of the oldest sports in the world, the Gaelic game of hurling.
As the second month of winter sports gets under way, all four regional high school varsity teams maintain their winning records, with boys’ basketball still undefeated.
The boys play Bishop Feehan at home tomorrow at 3 p.m. Girls’ hockey will also be on home ice tomorrow, taking on Hanover/Cohasset at 12:30 p.m.
The Nan Rheault Invitational tournament takes place this weekend at the MV Arena, spotlighting the girls’ hockey teams. Boys’ hockey and boys’ basketball also have home games.
