Tonight, Jan. 2, at 7 p.m., MVTV will air a half-hour video special about the winter session of the Adult and Community Education Program (ACE MV) titled Learn and Grow — ACE MV Adult Education. The program was created by BZ Riger.
How’s Your News, a television show starring former campers from Vineyard Haven’s Camp Jabberwocky, premieres Sunday, Feb. 8 at 10:30 p.m. on the cable network MTV. Plum TV of Martha’s Vineyard (channel 76), along with Plum’s Nantucket and Sun Valley stations, has been nominated for eight New England Emmy awards. Winners will be announced at Boston Marriott Copley Place on May 30.

Martha’s Vineyard Tile Company owners, Annie and Jeremy Bradshaw, are adding a new dimension to their tile business through television with a half-hour show devoted to the use of tile in homes and businesses. Tile Trends, hosted by Annie Bradshaw and Guinevere Cramer, begins airing Nov. 20 on MVTV channel 13 and can be seen on demand on MVTV.org.
The seven-part Ken Burns documentary The War is being broadcast in conjunction with the Martha’s Vineyard Museum’s new exhibit, Those Who Serve: Martha’s Vineyard and World War II.
The War, coproduced by Lynn Novick, screens on Rhode Island PBS station WSBE (channel 9) on Sundays at 2 p.m.
In this digital age, it sometimes seems as if the whole world is made up of amateur videographers. With the introduction of online video forums like YouTube, just about anyone can post just about anything on the Internet. And YouTube is just one of the many sites dedicated to such things.
The problem with YouTube is that it’s not very selective. For every memorable video, there are thousands and thousands of essentially useless clips. Imagine the time it takes to find the diamonds in the rough.
MVTV will begin airing a two-part presentation this week with details on the Oak Bluffs proposal to build a roundabout at the blinker intersection.
All About Roundabouts is in two half-hour segments, produced by longtime summer visitor John O’Keefe. It features extensive footage from four existing roundabouts in southeastern Massachusetts and takes a detailed look at the one proposed here. Construction is planned to begin in the fall and is envisioned to be complete by early 2013.
