The Time Machine, the Vineyard Gazette’s online display of historical stories and photos, won Best Digital Innovation Award Thursday from the New England Society of Newspaper Editors.

Meaghan Nydam has been named marketing manager for the Vineyard Gazette Media Group.

The Vineyard Gazette won 32 awards, including 13 first place honors, for excellence in journalism in the annual New England Better Newspapers Competition.

The Vineyard Gazette printed copies of its Friday, August 21, 1885 edition, which will be used as a prop for the new Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse production opening on Tuesday, August 21.

In honor of Veterans Day, the Gazette has added a collection of stories from the Viet Nam era to the Time Machine, its digital showcase of historic material.

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, the Gazette's Tuesdays in the Newsroom series will feature a discussion with various Island veterans of the Viet Nam War.
