October 26, and gremlins and hobgoblins are creating and trying on costumes for next week as their parents pull on their waders and pull out the peep sights to peer down at Island ponds for a tasty dinner treat.

A scalloper's "Peep sight"??? Those things are called "Buck Rogerses"! That's what the old-timers I knew called 'em. Save our local words!
