I can’t keep up with this weather. One day it is so nice out and you can just wear a sweater, next day you are reaching for the scarf, and boots to keep warm. But once again that is New England.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Alazandra Navarrete, who celebrated Nov. 18; Harvey Proctor and Crystal Ray, Nov. 19; Arianna Bonner, Nov. 21; Gustavo souse, Nov. 23; and to Daniel Serpa who celebrates his day Nov. 24.

It is the Friday after Thanksgiving that you are probably reading this or perhaps you are reading online, but whichever way it is Black Friday and the sales are on. I remember getting up early when I was at college and trying to make the stores. But it was crazy. People have a plan on how they were going to shop and where and had all the coupons in hand. Now, it is pretty much turn on the computer and order it and punch in your coupon code. I guess this is better than fighting the crowds, but somehow it is not the same fun getting the bargains.

Remember that now winter is here the local restaurants are running their one-night specials. Keep an eye on the papers. We went to Oak Bluffs for the $5.99 cheeseburgers at the Bowling Alley. Chowder Co. runs specials, Harborview, Offshore Ale, The Grill on Main, and many more. Sometimes it is cheaper to do that than cook a meal. You just have to remember to just stick to the meal on sale and not get extras.

There will be a holiday vendor event at the P.A. Club off Vineyard avenue in Oak Bluffs, on Saturday Nov. 25 2017 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you have any other questions you can call Kristie at 774-836-4005.

This is just a reminder about the open house at the Edgartown Library for Debbie MacInnis, who is retiring from the library after 40 years. Please feel free to drop by on Friday, Dec. 1 between 1 and 4 p.m.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
