The weather man said don’t change your outside plans for Sunday it won’t be a washout. I think he forgot to tell the weather Gods. We always know that Edgartown and other parts of the Island will be fog bound in a few weeks while places like Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs with be sunshine but we can handle it.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Tayla BenDavid, Aleeya Holley and Hector Olivieira, who all celebrated May 5; Ruby Della Russo and Conor McGrath May 7; Jahzarah McIntosh, May 8; Harrison Lazarus, May 9; and to Ava Trott who celebrated her day May 10.

This is the weekend that Edgartown will be decorated with the Lily Pulitzer colors. Yes it is Pink and Green weekend. Donaroma’s starts the weekend on Friday with the fairies flying around the store. There will be projects for the kids, and cheese and crackers. Come visit and take in the spring colors in the nursery as the flowers are about to bloom and the colors are amazing.

If you are driving around town I hope you are starting to take in the spring colors. The grass is starting to turn green, the hedges are greening up and the cherry trees, fruit trees are all starting to bloom. I know the allergy season is bad but you cannot deny the colors are spectacular.

Here are a couple of things going on at Felix Neck: nature trivia on May 17 beginning at 6 p.m., and stargazing with Mark Lovewell on May 18, beginning at 8:30 p.m.

All are invited to the Martha’s Vineyard Cancer Support Group’s annual fundraising gala, An Evening Under the Stars, at Farm Neck on Thursday, May 17, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The evening features a buffet dinner, silent auction, music by Mike Benjamin and a cash bar. All proceeds from the event will support the group’s mission of helping island cancer patients and their families with medical expenses and other treatment-related expenses. For further information and to purchase tickets, please call Ann Marie Donoghue at 508-627-7958.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
