I think with all this rain the ponds might be full. I have been told that means winter can start. We have had our share of cold so far but now I am hearing from some that there are hardly any acorns this year which means a mild winter. But the Farmer’s Almanac said a cold winter, so we will see who is right. Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Christopher Barbosa, Madeline Delaive Tweedly, and [November 18, Harvey Proctor, November 19, Arianna Bonner, and Maria DaSilva, November 21, and to Webyler Sales, who celebrates his day today November 22.

Special birthday wishes go out to Catherine Enos Griffin who will celebrate her ninetieth birthday on November 26. Here is to many more and hope your day was a special one.

I have said this many times before, but we have some very talented children on this Island and some very good teachers. I went to the production of Frozen Jr. put on at the Edgartown School. The cast included students from sixth to eighth grade. It was everything you wanted it to be. The voices, the acting and the stage hands changing the set between scenes were so well done. Congratulations to all for a job well done.

I am hearing plans for Thanksgiving and the turkeys are filling the case at the Stop & Shop. The end cases on the aisles are filled with canned gravy, cranberry sauce, etc. and then there are the aisles with the chocolate chips, pumpkin pie filling, flour, sugar and all the good things that go along with Thanksgiving.

I can’t believe it is next Thursday.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
