The sun has been shining but it has been chilly. I hate to say it but we have to start thinking about some rain. If we look back at March we did not get much rain or snow so we need some moisture to come our way to get all the plants and trees going.
Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Maria Soares who celebrated March 28; Luis Cardoza, Clarice Lima, Cody Noyes, who all celebrated March 29; Averie Murphy-Conroy, March 30; Matheo Gomes, and Brynn Savva, March 31; Savannah Matthews, April 3; Kyla Abreu, Nathan Brodeur, Nicholas Silva and Kelley Talbot, April 5; Harrison Crowell, Elliot Klein and Elidsheva Weisenberg, April 7; Julia Marino, April 8; and to Mabel DeRoche and Frankie Paciello who celebrate their day today. April 9.
I, like many, have waited over a year to see family. After being vaccinated and waiting the two-week time I was able to spend Easter with my family. Most of them are in the medical field and they are all vaccinated so we were all comfortable with each other. I was among five great nieces, one great-nephew, three great-great-nephews, and one great-great niece, ranging from the age of one to old enough to have children of their own. Needless to say, it was not quiet and I loved every minute of it. They were all thrilled as they had not been together for a long while. It was a great day. My brother Frank and his wife Linda are still in Florida so we missed them at the gathering but hopefully it won’t be long until we can do it again.
I read on Facebook that one of my friends had not been off-Island since the ticket office in Woods Hole was taken down. She also did not know that Tedeschi’s was now a 7-Eleven. You also must know that sometimes when coming from the Island you may have to wait a few minutes for another boat to leave so that your boat can dock. I was taken aback some when I walked off the boat and we were closer to the Landfall than before and the ticket office seemed a mile away especially in the driving rain. I think eventually it will be nice but it is a bit of an adjustment when you have not left the Island for a while.
Once again, the Edgartown Library has some amazing programs scheduled for this month. They have also expanded curbside pickup hours to Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
