A Vineyard resident wanted for murder in Connecticut was indicted by a Norfolk County grand jury last week for charges connected to stabbings at a Braintree movie theatre.

Jared Ravizza, 27, was arraigned in Norfolk Superior Court on Sept. 16, pleading not guilty to four counts of assault to murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a child under 14 and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police say Mr. Ravizza stabbed four girls on May 25 at the Braintree AMC movie theatre. The girls were at a screening for the Ryan Reynolds movie IF, when Mr. Ravizza ran into the theatre with a knife. All four were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

“He laughed at us and sounded like the Joker and ran out,” one of the girls told police.

Mr. Ravizza had been living on the Island on and off for a few years and had addresses listed in Chilmark and West Tisbury. Originally from Agawam, Mr. Ravizza allegedly had been in Deep River, Conn. before the Braintree attack and killed 70-year-old Bruce Feldman and two dogs

The two men had allegedly been staying together at the Connecticut home at the time. After the Braintree stabbings, Mr. Ravizza drove to Plymouth and stabbed two McDonald’s employees

Mr. Ravizza was held without bail after the latest Norfolk Superior Court hearing and is scheduled to have a dangerousness hearing next week. He is currently being held at Plymouth County House of Corrections.

Mr. Ravizza, who is also facing assault charges in West Tisbury for allegedly attacking his father, was scheduled to be arraigned on the Vineyard in September but the hearing was delayed. He is expected to appear in Edgartown District Court virtually for the hearing on Nov. 14.
