The days are getting longer and they will be even longer next week as we turn the clocks ahead this weekend, March 9. We will go through the usual adjustment of getting an hour less sleep, and getting our pets used to the adjustment. But it is so worth it with the extra light in the evenings.
Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Valentina Santana who celebrated March 1; Callie Oteri, March 3; Domminy Riveiro, Grace Seguin, March 5; Violet Dello Russo, March 6; and to Jhady Pereira and Theo Pereira, who celebrate their day March 7.
Special birthday wishes goes out to Ethel Chapman who celebrated her 97th birthday on March 4. All the best to you Ethel and hope you had a special day.
Town was so quiet last week as it was school vacation. There were open spaces at the post office, and you could turn onto the main roads without waiting. But now everyone seems to be back, and we are returning to normal winter activities. The school is active again with kids and teachers in and out, and there are after-school activities which I have missed because the street was very quiet while they were gone.
The Smith family, Paula and Drew, Tommy and Alison, John and Debbie, Laura DeBettencourt and Liz Smith enjoyed some family time and sun in Turks and Caicos. They always have a wonderful time together and had some great pictures, but I smiled at John and Debbie’s sunset pictures, as Debbie always post the sunrise as she and John are headed out scalloping in the 30-degree weather. So glad they all had a wonderful vacation.
Paulo DeOliveira and his wife Justine Shemeth DeOliveira, and their children Mateo and Luiza, had a fun family trip to Puerto Rico. They enjoyed the beaches, the culture, delicious food and met up with some old friends and I am sure they enjoyed the sun and warm air.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
