The weather pattern is still the same. It has been rainy, windy, sunny and foggy. Temperatures have varied too. Monday was actually a nice day and the flip flops were out for a couple of hours. However, in true Massachusetts style the boots were back on the next day.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Xavier Jimenez, who celebrated April 12; Alice De Oliveira, Daisy Neadow, April 13; Talique Nelson, April 14; and to Riley Kaeka, and Britta Shaw who celebrated their day April 17.

It is Easter weekend and the nursery is decorated with the big Easter basket and of course the Easter Bunny. The daffodils are in full bloom along with the tulips and pansies. Inside, the Easter lilies are in full bloom and that all-to-familiar aroma that takes you back to your parent’s home and church. The Stop & Shop is slowly selling out of Easter candy and other things for Easter baskets. It is a family weekend, and I hope you get some family time in.

The pink full moon was on Saturday but of course we had rain so not many people here had the chance to see it. But Monday night after trivia at the Barn, Debbie MacInnis and I were coming home on Beach Road and the moon was rising above Cape Pogue and it was so beautiful. I do have an iPhone, and I could take pictures, but they never do it justice. Besides, I was too busy watching it come above the water.

It is the time of year when we want to put the plants in our planters or even the ground. They look so pretty with all their colors and it gives the yard a pop of color. But once again, the frost time is not over. There are different opinions on when it is safe — some say Memorial Day, then some say after the full moon in May. You can always take the chance and if there is a threat of frost you can try and cover them with a light cloth or burlap to keep the leaves from freezing. There are herbs out and lettuce and kale. Planting season has started.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
