The temperature is rising — now if we could just coordinate the rain so that it rains at night and the sun shines during the day we would be delighted. On the plus side, with all the rain the grass is getting greener and the trees are bursting with buds, which is lifting everybody’s spirits.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Sierra Meuse, who celebrated April 29; Carter Brilliard, Savannah Wilson, April 30; Fletcher Foster, May 1; and to Olivia Silva who celebrates her day May 2.

I went to the Stop & Shop Pharmacy, which has been under construction for a while, and was pleasantly surprised. There was no line. Also, there is an aisle where people line up that is filled of chips, pretzels or whatever crunchy snack you like. When you get halfway through the line, there is a cooler with soft drinks and water. So, if you have medications you need to pick up and you are in line, it helps to have will power to not grab a snack while waiting.

I was happy to run into Steve Ewing who always has a smile. He and his wife Claudia had a good winter and enjoyed some downtime for a month down south and are now back ready for their busy season.

When I was in school, we learned the song, June is busting out all over. Towards the end of the song, it said, “And April cried and stepped aside and along came pretty little May.”

If you think about it May is pretty. After a winter of brown and white, May comes along with some beautiful colors with the trees blooming and the spring flowers opening. It also lifts people spirits with the warm weather and sunshine. So welcome to May.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
