Sea of beach umbrellas is a sure sign of an Island heat wave. Tim Johnson

Despite the humidity of recent days, this has been an acceptably warm, yet dry summer. It's been nigh perfect weather for our vacationing friends – every day a sunny beach day, every evening a mild delight.

In any event, our hopes are modest: a thoroughly soaking rain for three hours between midnight and dawn three or four nights a week would do very nicely, thank you. A little less humidity during the day. And let's keep the pleasant evenings, please. That's not much to ask, is it?

Good Morning, once again you have done it; misty eyes whilst having my coffee. I chose not to travel to my house just now as a compromised person with the virus issue but your beautiful, beautiful, beautiful photographs comfort me. Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to all involved.

Beautiful pictures! Every summer We go to MV to visit our son, it's a trip that I love. This year because of the virus we will not be coming as we are both up in age and keeping away from every as much as possible. Because our advanced years, I don't know how many more trips are in our future and that makes us sad. I will save these pictures to look at and enjoy the views I would rather see in person.
