Karen Altieri has been named the new director of development at radio station WMVY.

The popular deejay Jess Phaneuf will return to Island radio station WMVY late this month, with both on-air and off-air duties and a new title of music director.

WMVY/mvyradio has named Bill Bartholomew to its underwriting sales executive team.

MVY radio broadcaster Laurel Redington was recently honored with an award from the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association.

For 32 years, Barbara Dacey has been the voice of radio station WMVY. Last month she announced that she will step away from the station at the end of the year.

Ms. Dacey, director of worldwide programming at WMVY, will leave the station where she has worked since 1985 at the end of the year.

John McMahon has been named the new director of underwriting at Martha’s Vineyard based WMVY 88.7 FM.

Martin Sexton is a showman and on Friday evening he put on a heartfelt show at the Old Whaling Church. The show was a benefit for WMVY.

WMVY is teaming up with Club Passim in Cambridge for a joint benefit concert featuring Martin Sexton on Friday, Aug. 4 at the Old Whaling Church.
