Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard, which provides care and comfort to Island families at the end of life, has been named the beneficiary of the Vineyard Gazette’s annual holiday subscription promotion.

For the fifth straight year, the Gazette is pledging to give $15 of every new renewal subscription it receives from now until Jan. 31 to an Island charity, as part of its commitment to the community. People who become a Friend of the Vineyard Gazette will also be supporting Hospice with $15 of their contribution.

In a story in this week’s edition, Gazette reporter Louisa Hufstader chronicles the work of Hospice volunteers.

Since 2015, the Gazette has donated more than $50,000 to select Island nonprofit organizations during the holiday season. Previous beneficiaries include Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group, Island Grown Schools, Camp Jabberwocky and Connect to End Violence.
