There are several species nesting on the Vineyard whose abundance has not been documented this year.
By all accounts the breeding season is in full swing. The shorebirds that nest on our beaches and marshes are escorting their chicks around.
The populations of nine of the 10 species of warblers that breed on the Island are declining.
