There is no reason to get the blues when the weather turns cold and outdoor bird watching is not fun anymore.
Birders everywhere grab their binoculars and head out to look for birds during a storm. The blow we had last weekend was no exception.

October 4 the feeders went up and we had our usual visitors, plus male and female eastern towhees and eastern phoebes.
A flock of seven or eight long-tailed parakeet types visited some caged parrots on a hillside between the Allen Farm and the Keith Farm.
There were some unusual sightings last weekend, including a Nashville warbler, but my impression of the past week is that birds were scarce.
