Photographer R. G. Shute took some fine views of the hotel Monday afternoon. The finished pictures are now on sale at his store, samples to be seen in the window. It is useless to say that Mr. Shute is an adept at the photographer's art, - as well as a thousand and one other accomplishments, - and in this case has been fortunate in securing extra fine results and has made a picture which every Edgartonian far and near will desire to be in possession of. It is Sunday morning and Bob Carroll and Eugene (Geno) Courtney are sitting in Mr. Carroll’s penthouse apartment at the top of the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown.
Scout Hotels, the company that manages the Harbor View Hotel and Kelley House in Edgartown, is expanding with two new properties on the Cape and Nantucket.
Its porches and windows frame Edgartown harbor and the surrounding landscape, drawing visitors from around the Island and the world. It is a favorite spot to sit back and watch the sailboats in the harbor, the changing skies throughout the different seasons and the fireworks on the Fourth of July.
On Monday this week the Edgartown selectmen approved a liquor license transfer for the Kelley House, which includes the Newes from America, a pub at the corner of Kelley and North Water streets.
The lobby of Point B Realty doesn’t look like a place of serious business these days. Behind the reception desk sits Edgar, a six-foot-tall teddy bear. On the other side of the lobby, owner and principal broker of the firm, Wendy Harman, fluffs the fur of two-year-old Chappy, a teddy bear named by “fans” last year through Facebook and blog votes and posts.
