Carl Manning Widdiss died early Sunday morning in Phoenix, Ariz., after enduring a five-year struggle with cancer. Three of those years were spent caring for and tending to the needs of his late mother, Gladys A. Widdiss.
The Native American Artisan’s Festival with artists from the Aquinnah Wampanoag, Mashpee, Narraganset, Oneida and Abenaki tribes is on Saturday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Aquinnah Public Library will present Phil Weinstein, the Alexander Griswold Cummins Professor of English at Swarthmore College, who will speak on Thursday, July 24, at 5 p.m. at the Aquinnah town hall.
