Chocolate lovers — and who isn’t? — tonight, at Featherstone Gallery, begins a weekend Chocolate Festival from 7 to 9 p.m., featuring chocolate martinis, chocolate tasting, champagne, fine wines and live musical entertainment. The $50 admission charge raises money for Featherstone, a great addition to our Island arts. The festival continues Saturday, Oct. 9 and Sunday, Oct. 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. I’ll see you there.
I know the kind of person who would do this is not intelligent enough to read my column, or, in fact, a newspaper, but thanks a lot to the jerk who dumped a car battery on my Eastville Beach, right at one of the fence entrances as the parking lot turns to beach. Someone has marked it with a large feather. Any chance one of our town, or Oak Bluffs town, services can remove this before it starts leaking into the environment?
I am about to write and circulate a petition I want you all to sign. Let’s add to Massachusetts state law, perhaps even federal law, a requirement that all leaf blowers have mufflers on them. What do you think?
Well, in retrospect, that was a quick season! Of course, it didn’t seem so when you were snagged in traffic or searching for a parking spot. Plenty of parking now.
