This is part of our Martha’s Vineyard Film Society’s summer program. Call 774-392-2972 for more information.
There’s a rumbling among the denizens. Town dump stickers, the ones you put on your car windows, have been raised from $5 annually to $25. Compost dumping — leaves, twigs, Christmas trees are no longer free, $2 per barrel or $25 per truckload. Call or write your town hall, department of public works, or selectmen. Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m only telling you.
It is always a pleasure to hear from my dear friend, Anna Duarte. Anna wants you all to know she has returned from successful eye surgery, she is recuperating nicely from her accident, and, no surprise here, she will be Poppy Chair again for the American Legion. Anna and her Poppy Girls will be at strategic locations to hand you a poppy and gratefully accept your donations on Memorial Day weekend.
