This is a long-delayed Valentine card to my friends, the manager, Liza Buckley, and the staff at Cumberland Farms. What would I do without these people? They make my every waking day wonderful; visiting in the morning is my social hour, along with the usual suspects who show up for coffee and a newspaper. The crew is friendly, helpful, cheerful and caring. Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!
Sorry I missed you last week; I was under the weather. And what weather we have been having! As I splashed through Five Corners last Tuesday I was reminded of back in the day when Five Corners regularly flooded and the fire department had to pump it out. It was getting close, I tell you!
One of the saddest notes I ever had to read was posted on the door of the Ocean View and in the bar when I went for lunch last Monday. It reads: “Due to the recent demise of the New England Patriots, the Ocean View will be closed on Sunday nights.” Bad enough that Deb Little and I watched the game together and were anticipating a different outcome. It certainly threw us into a tailspin. Well, as we say in baseball, wait ’til next year.
Nonna gets to be Nonna again. There’s a new star shining in our neighborhood back in my Old Country. Nonna’s friends and neighbors, Arun Singh and Rachel Schoolcraft, are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Olivia Lee Singh, on Friday, March 25 at 6:01 p.m. Olivia weighed in at 6 pounds, one ounce and is 18.25 inches long. Congratulations, and may she live happily ever after!
