Welcome autumn, after a long, dry, hot and humid summer. The rains finally came on Monday for most of the day and were greatly needed.

Well Hermine did very little damage around the Vineyard, other than a few tree limbs hanging on utility wires. Only a few short power outages. The winds averaged in the 48 mph range.

We have had great weather all summer long but could use a little more rain than we had on Monday morning. At least the humidity has dissipated.

Another glorious, sun-filled week. Ideal weather for all the outdoor activities including fundraisers, picnics, and vacations. Despite the significant lack of rain, there is beauty in so many blooming plants and shrubs especially the Rose of Sharon, hydrangeas, and the roses that are still in bloom.
