You write “focused” and I write “focussed.” This has stymied me for years, but I never quite remember to get around to looking it up. Well, just now my computer underlined “focussed” as a misspell. Yet two of my favorite publications each spell it differently. I hunkered down in preparation for Sandy with lots of books, the Sunday New York Times and my newest New Yorker. Ah! There it was again.

You say pajamas, I say pyjamas. Remember what a ratty day Tuesday was? Thank goodness I could work from home, and did so in my pajamas.

What a great pleasure to finally try the Little House Cafe on State Road just past Surveyors Lane. I had no idea this adorable restaurant had already been opened for three years, year-round, before I had a chance to try it for lunch yesterday. Everything is prepared fresh, dinners are served from Wednesday through Saturday nights, and wine and beer are available. The menu is interesting and eclectic. Handicap access is wonderful. Nonna and I enjoyed it so. Our server was the lovely Paulina from my neighborhood. We’ll see you there.

Hacked again! Who would ever say anything bad about my colleague Holly Nadler? It was lovely to have my first phone call this morning be from Holly, but awful to hear that I have been saying terrible things about her on Facebook, even to the point of posting a video about the errors of her ways.
