Well our first real snowstorm came last Saturday. It was beastly; we were pelted with a heavy wet snow and high winds, virtual white out, and gusts that reached 65 miles per hour, about all day and into the night.

We experienced our first snowfall last Tuesday with miserably cold temperatures to boot; about the only vehicles on the road were sand trucks It seems like the temperature has dropped nearly as fast as the price of gasoline. Sunday it was on sale for $2.54 per gallon at the up-Island gas station, the lowest it has been around here in nearly 10 years, and they were mighty busy.

We did not have any snow on Christmas Day, in fact we have had one of the warmest Decembers on record. The automobile traffic in town was nearly nonexistent most of the day as families gathered around their tree to exchange gifts and enjoy a family dinner

Well all is nearly ready in most homes for Christmas next Friday. However there is always time for a tiny amount of last minute shopping. Reliable Market is busy making fruit baskets for last minute gifts.
