Well the record book on March is almost closed. Spring may have finally arrived and according to Bea Whiting it has brought about 30 new lambs to her dad’s farm. She says Grandpa Allen has a swell time in the barn yard when his grandson Asa visits. The mill pond has been stocked with trout and kids are fishing there each day.

Well as you have noticed, the days are getting thankfully longer; we now have more than 12 hours of daylight each day and the thermometer has acted favorably. The sun has been wonderful and snow drops are in full bloom in Charlie Kernick’s yard

Well unlike last year February was the third warmest month since record keeping began in 1882. We did have two decent size snowstorms, rain, wind, and a real cold blast but that was it. The month of March came in like a lamb, so according to the old saying March will leave like a lion.

Well it was a cold blustery weekend with high winds, a wind chill factor of minus 25 degrees, boat cancellations and a Sunday morning temperature of minus seven degrees! That is the coldest morning temperature that I can recall.
