We had our first significant snowfall of the season last weekend. On Friday about six inches of white fluffy stuff, and a real whopper of a snowstorm the next day.
Well it did turn colder right after Christmas. It rained hard last Friday and the wind blew. Many people are busy working at their New Year’s resolutions.
The weekend weather was cold but no snow fell on Christmas. Families gathered around the tree to exchange gifts and the children noted that Santa Claus had left the presents.
The month of December so far is showing below average temperatures.
The winter season officially begins on Wednesday, the winter solstice and shortest day of the year. So we must think positively as the days will be getting a tiny bit longer starting on Wednesday and seed catalogs have begun to arrive in the mail.
The seasonable weather has not stopped the festive mood in the air. Outside lights, candles and trees are being put up in the time-honored tradition.
Well last weekend we experienced cold and damp weather, and seasonable temperatures with a bit of wind.

The leaves for the most part have fallen to the ground and were blown around by the wind last weekend.
