Well this month has been a bugger: cold, snow (including thunder snow), power outages and many boat cancellations. We are heading into a long weekend as Monday is President’s Day.
Sunday night was the most exciting Super Bowl game ever.
It’s been a mild winter with above-average temperatures. We had two snow events of about 20 inches, a few bitterly cold days and that has been it so far.
The weekend weather was not unreasonable for this time of year. The big news was the Women’s March on Washington last Saturday and the vast number of people that attended.
It is clear that the winter blahs have set in. We are less than two short months away from the start of Daylight Saving Time and spring.
We had our first significant snowfall of the season last weekend. On Friday about six inches of white fluffy stuff, and a real whopper of a snowstorm the next day.
Well it did turn colder right after Christmas. It rained hard last Friday and the wind blew. Many people are busy working at their New Year’s resolutions.
The weekend weather was cold but no snow fell on Christmas. Families gathered around the tree to exchange gifts and the children noted that Santa Claus had left the presents.
The month of December so far is showing below average temperatures.
