The Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living will have a table at Harborfest tomorrow in Oak Bluffs. Please stop by our table and learn about our mission and goals. You also may take a chance on items to be raffled at summer’s end: A watercolor painting by Joseph Palermo, autographed cook books by Cathy Walthers and Alison Shaw, a fancy floral purse by Sylvie Farrington, wampum earrings by Joan LeLacheur, and a flight around the Vineyard by David Stein.
The Aquinnah Public Library will enjoy coffee hour on Saturday morning from 10 to noon with hot beverages and a snack. Story time is 3 to 3:30 p.m. for toddlers and their parents. Welcome back to library director Cathy Thompson who has returned from her well-deserved vacation in the sun. The needlecraft group will meet on Tuesday, March 1 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Please bring your knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, or any other stitching project you have. Refreshments will be served.
The Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living would like to thank one and all for another successful cultural luncheon at the Grill on Main on Jan. 29. Thank you to Chef Tony Saccoccia and his staff for hosting us and a most delicious luncheon. Keynote speakers included Carrie Tankard, Elaine Weintraub and Tom Dresser, who spoke on the contributions and influence of the African American community on Martha’s Vineyard.
Community Baptist Church of Gay Head will have a business meeting following worship on Sunday, April 17; all members are encouraged to attend and to participate.
Eggsciting egg coloring will take place this Saturday and Sunday at the Duck Inn from 2 to 4 p.m. each day. Elise LeBovit will once again host her fantastic egg hunt on Easter Day.
The Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living will sponsor their fourth in a series of cultural luncheons tomorrow from noon to 2 p.m. at the Grill on Main. Ruth Cronig Stiller and her daughter, Gayle Stiller, will present the influence and contributions, history and culture of the Jewish community on Martha’s Vineyard.
