Spring is less than a month away. We are now awaiting another snow storm this weekend. That will make it three weekends in a row with snow. Then we have a day or two of rain which then turns to ice. Mid-week it tends to tease us by warming up to a comfortable temperature only to face another weekend with snow.

Valentine’s Day hearts and cards will be the work of the young ones and those young at heart at Aquinnah Public Library tomorrow with the assistance of Barbara Lampson. Stop in during library hours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Barbara has also offered to assist college-bound seniors of Aquinnah and those already in college with a FAFSA night on Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. You will also have an opportunity to peruse the scholarship list while working on your federal student aid paperwork.

Winter is upon us. For those who thought global warming was forever after a mild winter in 2012, let’s think again. The temperatures have been below freezing; we had about half a foot of snow on Monday night, and on Wednesday morning it was minus seven degrees Fahrenheit (with wind chill).
