Well last weekend felt like summer had finally arrived. The ballfields and tennis courts were busy.
Well the weekend weather was not that bad, a stray shower or two on Sunday but below average temperature. The orioles (birds that is) will return to town by Thursday.
Well Tuesday is the first of May when baskets may be hung on your door and May pole celebrations and dances announce the arrival of warmer weather.
The weekend weather was reasonable if not warm and toasty. April 15 was the coldest it has been on that date, 40 degrees, since 1881. Not a very warm start to spring.
Friday marks the start of a holiday weekend. Patriot’s Day is Monday and town offices will be closed. When will spring weather arrive?
Well, some folks have already begun planting peas in their gardens last weekend and cleaning up the garage to locate the lawn mower that will be delivered to Jim’s Power Equipment in Vineyard Haven for a spring tune up.

Well we got slammed by another northeast storm on Tuesday. This time we had nine inches of heavy wet snow, howling winds with gusts to 65 mph.
Spring will be here in a just four days and that will not be soon enough for many of us.
