We made through one heat wave and by the end of this week when this paper comes out we may have gone through another one. I still am praying for rain as the ground is so dry.
There is only one word that describes this week’s weather and that is HOT! I personally do not like it this hot. I lived with “Nanuk of the North” for 28 years and learned to like the cold and got used to sleeping with the window open even if it was snowing or less than 30 degrees.
Well, the hot and humid weather has arrived. I guess that means summer is actually here. We are still wishing for rain as the ground is still so dry. But we will still take the sunny days.
We could not have asked for better Fourth of July weather. Yes I know it was cloudy on the Fourth but the true beach people still went and you could tolerate the heat. All in all, it was a good one.
First it is hot then cold, the sun is shining then it is raining, then there is fog then it is clear, then there is wind then there is calm. Mother Nature is playing with us.
We got some much needed rain, and some thunder and lightning. Now we have a little muggy weather. Summer has arrived.
I am sitting here listening to the much needed rain. The flowers are happy and the birds will be happy that they have some water to splash in. But the sun is set to return for the rest of the week and we will be happy.
Well once again I am sitting here and there is a threat of badly needed rain. I looked at the radar today and there was showers going to the north of us and the south. It was like it parted ways to go around us. So I am hoping that some of the rain they are threatening us with will hit us.
I had started this week’s column with we need rain, but as I sit here the sound of rain is bouncing off the windows. However, I said nothing about the heat and now it is in the 40s and lower 50s. I am so glad I did not get out my summer clothes this past weekend.
